When the Yolk Breaks…

Beyond excited to have as a guest writer today my very own nephew, Chase Noel! He is a great writer and teaches us that we can say so much by saying so little. He is an anointed preacher, student of the Gospel and one of the kindest young men you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Please read his bio at the end of this post and visit his blog at Going in Grace. You will be blessed.

What do you do when the yolk in the egg breaks?

You cook scrambled eggs.

I’m no egg expert, but an over-easy egg takes an unbroken yolk.

Keeping the yolk in tact is essential to the outcome of your sunny-side up (if that’s your preference), but accidents happen and innocent yolks end up hurt, stirred, broken…

Here comes the unveiling of the metaphor you were expecting…

When the yolk breaks, instead of forgetting the breakfast all-together; fix scrambled eggs.

We take on projects, endeavors, even relationships with an expected end result. But through the process that precedes the end result, stuff happens. The promotion is given to someone else. That girl or guy gets married…

Our expectations don’t pan out, and all we’re left with is a broken yolk.

The truth is, the ending doesn’t always align with our expectations, but who deemed our expectations to be ideal? Your shattered expectations could be the doorway to a better reality.

Your broken yolk could make for some good scrambled eggs.

If you can’t recover what you had, why not work with what’s left? What’s left may end up being far greater than what was. Jesus lends Himself to broken yolks like you and me.

A broken yolk isn’t useless, it’s another chance… Better yet, it’s a different chance.

Don’t give up. Scramble some eggs.

The only thing he enjoys more than sitting down for a cup of coffee with a good book is sitting down for a cup of coffee with a good person. His plans are to do whatever he can in, and for, the ministry of Jesus Christ. Visit his blog at Going in Grace.

Good example – yes it is good to be flexible and if one thing doesn’t work out as planned, ask God for plan B.

Lovely point. So often we give up when we don’t get our own way – instead of seeing something better may be just around the corner.

Wasn’t that good? He is a great preacher, God surely has big plans for his life. I was on your blog yesterday, I left the comment about the Kefir and smoothies 🙂 I am going to have to try that! I enjoyed your posts about the bulbs as well. I will be back!! Blessings!

I love this post. He is so right. Just because we were lost or “broken” doesn’t mean that we can’t become something good— better! We were all lost/broken before we found Jesus and now we are better for it. The suffering and sin that we went through and did has brought us closer to Christ. That’s what I got out of it anyway. He will be a good preacher when he gets a church. I hope him the best.
