I Know Who Holds Tomorrow!

The old song has been playing over in my mind, “Many things about tomorrow, I don’t seem to understand. But I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know, Who holds my hand.” The comfort comes in knowing where our future lies. If we have that hope then we have no worries!

Jesus said in this life we would have tribulation, trials, and problems.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.

But He gave us peace in the midst of our trials!

As long as our hope is in Him we can rest in confidence.

This beautiful picture was taken one day after church in Pinki, Latvia. I was coming out of our Sunday service in our rented building in the small city of Pinki, about a 45 minute bus ride from the capitol of Riga, Latvia, where we were serving in Eastern Europe. This beautiful pathway was right beside the centuries old church. I saw the elderly lady walking towards me and the scene was so picturesque I couldn’t resist getting out my camera and waiting patiently until she had passed to take this lovely picture.

It reminds me of the faithfulness of the Lord, His hand upon our lives. He will never leave us, or forsake us, but will be with us to the end!

Is there something in your life you need to trust God for today? Do you know who holds YOUR tomorrow?

If you are unsure of your eternity, please contact me via email at ynannette@gmail.com and I would be happy to help you find direction. It is that important, friend.

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT.

I feel your “pain”!! Some day it will all be over and we will have a new body! Is the Caryjo a pen name? You can read about Candace Jo here http://www.hopeinthehealing.com/candace-jo-2/ and see how she really causes confusion around here!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I truly enjoy your blog as well. It is a blessing! ♥

Beautiful photo, “loverly” explanation of peace. And worship is all we can do. On and on again. Feeling physically “tribulated” in this phase of life… body issues … He is the only One I can truly trust forever. MUST!!

Thank you. [Oh, and I chuckle sometimes when I glance and see “Candace Jo” and wonder how my name is on a blog…and then realize it’s not “Cary Jo” and something is in confusion. Not explaining well enough, but I did chuckle the first I “met” you and realized we’re not a lot different with our names. ;-)]

Wonderful to meet a Latvian neighbor! It is beautiful over there! Tell your husband I am getting ready to go back to Latvia September 19 for three weeks! Yay!! So excited to return even if for a short time. Missing my Latvian “babies” that we were able to win to the Lord while we were there. Such precious people. Oh, what a beautiful song is “Because He Lives”! It never gets old, does it? That’s where I got that from 🙂 Blessings to you for taking time to comment, it always means so much to meet new friends! ♥

I haven’t gotten to spend as much time there today as I normally do. Thank you for taking time to visit me. Blessings to you friend. ♥

Nanette…what precious reminder you write about: we are never alone. He goes before us and is with us. The photo is sweet and the quote right on. Thank you sharing this at WJIM this week. Blessings to you.

Love that quote and photo!! My husband served in Latvia on short-term college teams, once upon a time, but I’ve never yet traveled in Europe. He says it’s beautiful. Thank you for this peek and for the reminder of the faithfulness of our God.

I stopped by from Laura’s Playdates list this week when I saw your post title. We sang “Because He Lives” yesterday in church, and it has a similar line.

Grace and peace by multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord (2 Pet. 1:2).

Such a great post! Yesterday’s readings in mass were about girding up our loins and trusting God. Father talked a little about Abraham’s trust.

Thank you for sharing this at Motivation Monday!

    Dear Nanette
This is the most wonderful gift from our Pappa’s hand. The wonder of holding His Hand as we walk together through this life!

This is a precious photo and post! I admire Corrie Ten Boom so much. Such wisdom through suffering. Having faith in the Lord and trusting him is the only way to peace in the midst of life’s storms. Blessings for a peaceful Sabbath!

Oh, wow! What an experience. I have never been to Europe, but I’ve heard those places are beautiful! I haven’t posted my blog about the museum yet, but at points I felt physically sick at the footage and exhibits I witnessed. I agree, people need to hear these stories, especially since many of the eyewitnesses are no longer with us to tell it themselves. It’s remarkable how much antisemitic and Holocaust denier materials are still being circulated! (That can’t be anything short of the Enemy’s handiwork)

You are welcome! I just thought of the picture this morning and wondered if I was capable of adding text to it. I just discovered PicMonkey 🙂 I love the picture too, I was just spellbound that day watching her walk down that path.

We visited several holocaust museums in Latvia and Estonia….and guess what? We even went to Auschwitz in Poland! I cannot tell you how difficult of a trip that was! Some of the buildings I could not even enter. I sat out on the step while my husband and niece and her husband went inside. It is so heartbreaking. I have never even written about it yet, it is that hard to talk about. So glad you were able to go! People need to know…the story must forever be told! We saw rooms, literally, rooms full of eyeglasses, or shoes, or toothbrushes…everything was so heartbreaking. We will never fully understand their struggles.

Blessings to you dear friend!! ♥

I love the quote that you added to the photo, it’s stunning. Corrie Ten Boom’s testimony is one of my favorites. This past weekend I visited the D.C. Holocaust Museum, which just made her story that much more impactful. Her future was clearly unknown, but her faith helped her conquer the fear of uncertainty. Thanks for sharing.
