Let Go & Let God!

When you pray do you really release everything to God? Or do you hold on to bits and pieces and think you can work out some of it by yourself?

Paul tells us in Philippians that in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication WITH thanksgiving, to let our requests, our desires, our needs…everything that is going on in our life, to let it be made known to God. Bring all of those things to the Lord he said, tell Him all about what is in your heart, don’t leave anything out. And then? Don’t pick it back up and carry it home!

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

If it is a burden…leave it there.
If it is a worry…oh, especially, leave it there.
A financial need? Leave it with Him; He is the problem solver!
Need a medical miracle? Leave it at His feet. He’s the Great Physician!
Marriage in a mess? Best Counselor there ever was!
Worried about your job, or facing unemployment? He can supply your NEEDS!

You see, there is nothing…NOTHING, my God cannot do! Trust Him, lean on Him, praise Him in the good and bad, and most importantly keep walking beside Him.

I pray and I give thanks and then 5 minutes later, I’m asking “Now, when you gonna do it?” It’s clearly an unproductive cycle and I’m struggling with it because I scream – “You promised me all these things, but you’re holding them and not giving them to me.” And then, I get over it all and I’m back to the beginning “thank you for what you’re doing and these are the desires of my heart….now, when you gonna do it?”

    LOL!

Oh Joan, that gave me a chuckle…I could see myself in that circle, but at least we were going to the right place! He is so merciful! We are human, HE IS GOD! Thanks for sharing friend. ♥

Oh thank you for sharing! Most of all for mercy. Amen! I, too, want to be bolder for Christ. What a beautiful prayer. I am just like you, wherever I will be I will be giving thanks! ♥

I am still learning this “skill”. I give my worries and burdens to God and experience such peace. But then, sometimes, I pull them back again even though I KNOW God has everything under control. However, then I go back to prayer and give everything back to Him once more. But, at least that means I’m continually at His feet! lol

    Blessings, Joan

    Dear Nannette
Oh, I can just imagine how much our Pappa enjoys it when we trust Hum enough to go and just talk to Him about everything; not because we primarily need something from Him, but just because we love Him. It just goes without saying that being likewise in His constant Presence will fill our hearts with His otherworldy peace!
    Much love to you XX
    Mia

Hi Nannette! I am thankful for God’s healing and provision for our needs and most of all for mercy. I hope that I will be bolder in 2014 to share his truth in whatever way he leads. I am still not sure how we will be spending Thanksgiving, whether family will come here or if we’ll be traveling. Either way, I will be giving thanks to God for his blessings.
