31 Days of Hope & Healing

31dbc-participant-oct-2013Today begins the 31 Day Blogging & Writing Challenge!

But much more than that I will be sharing with you 31 Days of Hope & Healing. For the entire month of October I hope to bring you encouraging and uplifting posts every single day that will bring you hope, healing, and nourishment for your soul.

The best way to do that is to delve deep into the Word of God! I want us to do that…together. I have always wanted this blog to be an interactive community, and some of you have contributed greatly, it has been a blessing!

But I would love to have more input! Your comments are invaluable. You just never know what it might mean to a reader. They might be hanging by a thread and something YOU say just may be what they needed that very day to help them through a particular trial.

Never underestimate what God has given you! I held back for too many years worried of what others might think. When the Lord spoke to me about this blog, and I knew it was truly God, I wrestled with Him for days.

“Lord, I just cannot DO that! What will THEY think?

I am not a writer! THEY will talk about me. THEY will think I am trying to BE somebody. THEY will whisper about me, saying I am trying to elevate myself. What if I fail? What if it isn’t any good? What if I am made fun of?”

And on, and on, and on the questions went for several days in prayer.

Then one morning it was as if the sweet presence of God just swept into my room and if it had been an audible voice it would not have been any more clear…and He said to me,

“Who are THEY? I have asked you to do this to help others. This is your ministry now. Forget about other people and just obey my will.”

I was overcome with His presence and just seemed to be caught away in the Holy Ghost for the longest time. Even as I am writing this, the enemy is whispering in my ear, “THEY will think you are trying to say you are spiritual…you are holy, you are somebody!!”

You know what devil?! I will say the same thing I said that day:

“Get behind me Satan!”

I am tired of sitting back and letting him hinder me and keeping me from doing what God wants me to do!

I AM somebody!

So are YOU! We are a child of God and He gave us a job to do! To share the Gospel with as many as we can in these last days. This is the outlet He gave me for this time period and I am ever grateful. I am going to use it to the best of my ability and I thank Him every day knowing it has nothing whatsoever to do with ME, I am just a vessel, He is the Potter, I am the clay.

Now! Back to all of you!

31 Days of Hope & Healing

You can help me by becoming a partner with me these next 31 days.

If you have something you want me to write about, feel free to submit it! I will be happy to do it! Any subject of encouragement, or ways to get to faith, hope and healing of the mind and spirit. Nothing is off subject except prophecy, ha. Probably out of my league!

You can also contribute greatly by commenting! Please do!

Last, but not least, you can share the blog with your friends.

Share it on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and by email. If you are not following the blog, you can do so by any of these avenues and tell a friend. You just never know when something might be a blessing to another.

Blessings today! Thank you for your help and support these last SEVEN months! You all have been a blessing to me. Let’s make this next 31 days a month of great hope!

Tomorrow I will resume more updates on the Latvian conference so stay tuned!

Nannette, a.k.a. Candace Jo!

Candace Jo: Don’t let the enemy discourage you … I love that you are so transparent and real. Keep writing and the Holy Spirit will give you more to write about. Blessings to You!

I have to say that I am not surprised of the struggle you had before obeying God. It’s what we do..Lord I’m not good enough..he didn’t ask us to be. Lord I’m not a writer..again he didn’t ask us to be. Lord I’m no teacher…yeah but he is. Your obedience to what God had called you to do is inspiring to me. Therefore I know your blogs are great, they come from your heart. Excited to read what he had in store for us! Thank you for being obedient you really have no idea of the hearts you affect.

Excellent article….and a journey of hope is what we all need. Thanks for the reminder that it’s what God thinks that is all that really matters. Love all the other thoughts that ministered to me as well. Thanks so much.

Dear Sister, your post has completely knocked me over. In a good way. Thank you for being willing to write what the Lord lays on your heart. Once again, He has used you to speak into my life. So spot on. Yes, I can be so tormented by the “they’s” in my mind. You are a blessing!

Hey Nanette- I only wish THEY spent that much time thinking about YOU! : ) The truth is others are so busy with their own lives that they barely take notice… except for the ones you speak to, that can benefit from your gifts. They are ready and waiting to listen, learn, and grow. They are the ones you write to daily. Best wishes for a wonderful experience with the #31bdc. Great value you provide ~ Beth

Woot! Yay! I will be anxious to see your words too Amy! I will actually be glad to get in routine. It is going to be hard doing this every day overseas. I have intermittent internet too! Yikes! Pray saints! 🙂

Thank you so much! This is my first time so I am jumping in cold feet AND am out of the country right now! So it is a challenge to be sure.

I LOVE what you said about being a writer. Now I actually call myself one because, ha, it is what I do every single day! But yes, you have a point, it didn’t matter to me what I “called” it, God had called me to “do it”. I didn’t have to have the title, I just had to have the calling. So very well said, thank you so very much for confirming that for so many others! Blessings! ♥

Hi Elizabeth! Isn’t it true? The enemy will certainly do ANYTHING he can to hinder the work of God!! The more we listen the more he will talk! We just have to learn to turn him off. Blessings to you dear friend. ♥

Just reading your struggle with starting your blog spoke to me. Its the kind of struggle I deal with in other avenues. You are a wonderful writer and you have a way with connecting to others. Glad you listened to God’s call 🙂

Hi! Nanette,Wow!!this is Amazing!! I was actually going to email you and tell you that God has given me something to write and would ask you if you can share it in your site because I believe that that message was not only for me but for many more souls!..God has even given me how can I manage my time and be able to write. (For sure u know the kind of lifestyle a full time house wife has with a toddler!!..lol..I asked God how can I write when I dont even have anytime left after doing everything in the house.so He showed me how! ).. im excited because now Its confirmed this is what God wants me to do. Im not a writing either but I love sharing Good gifts I received from God just like you. Will email you dear sister..

Welcome to the 31 day blog challenge. I’m excited to see that your post covered going from self doubt (what if THEY think I’m trying to BE somebody) to I AM SOMEBODY. It was my very first thought when I read that line. God created you to be a beautiful somebody, all you have to do is BE. Also, as a side note, I just wanted to throw out a question (one someone asked me one day and I found helpful). What is a writer? You claimed not to be one, but I see writing… Perhaps you have an idea of writing that no longer serves you as you’re called to do this work. Naming it and setting it aside might feel really freeing (it did for me anyway :)). Can’t wait to see what else you feel inspired to contribute this month. Good luck and God Bless.

  21. Amy

I am so excited that you are doing the challenge too!! I’ll be here everyday! Love you, Sister! And I love your purpose!

  22. Ibukun

Can’t wait to journey with you these next 31 days. You and your blog have been such a blessing to me.
Keep letting God work through you.
    Love you!
